  Physical security is a booming marketing where, throughout the world, these products are used to capture, record and playback high-quality video and audio. Store owners, banks, police departments and governments, to name a few, purchase and install this hi-tech equipment to help ensure safety and security.

  While conceptually simple in operation, video cameras and digital video recorders are decidedly hi-tech equipment composed of some of today's most interesting and technically challenging technologies: CCD/CMOS image sensors; video processing, compression, encoding and decoding; massive hard disk drive storage; complex control and data management; Internet, networking (Ethernet) and real-time embedded systems technology and intuitive graphical user interfaces.

  Manipal Dot Net Pvt Ltd is looking to rapidly hire self-motivated, team-oriented, hard-working Software professionals to work on these innovative, leading-edge products.

Job Description

  • Work closely with Project management and Software Architect to define a &solution that achieves the project’s technical and business objectives
  • Define the work breakdown structure with the project manager to flesh ;out a deliverable plan with an accurate estimate of time for each task within each deliverable
  • Guide the project team to ensure they understand their deliverables, know the best practices for delivering them and advise the team members on technical issues
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between the product line cross functional team and offshore project development team
  • Develop high quality software specifications; design and implement ;medium/high complexity modules
  • Develop rigorous unit, system and functional tests for modules

Desirable Skill Sets

  • 6+ years experience in development of application/system software and device drivers for Unix/Linux environments, ideally, embedded Linux using C/C++
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux, shell programming, Vi/Emacs
  • Knowledge of perl/python/tcl
  • Exposure to version control(CVS/SVN/Clearcase), makefiles
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience managing teams of size 3 to 5
  • Project Management or Technical Architecture experience
  • Experience in embedded software development/debugging within the digital TV industry - satellite, cable and terrestrial set-top boxes, DVB broadcasting, etc. would be an added advantage
  • Proven software engineer with experience of the full product design cycle to most effectively enable design & verification of innovative embedded software systems
  • Solid understanding of the software development process to ensure high quality software deliverables
  • Exposure to networking technologies such as: Ethernet, IP, TCP & protocol stacks
  • Knowledge of real-time embedded systems, some experience with hardware-software integration, multi-task programming would be an advantage

Qualifications
BE/MTech/MCA/MSc(Engg)/PhD in Electrical/Electronics/Computers/Software Engineering
